FAQ
Tired of contractors who do not speak your language, show up late, or leave the job half-done? Here is how Screw It helps you book reliable home repair pros with clearer communication, safer payments, and fewer deep breaths into a wall.

What is Screw It?
+
Screw It helps olim and language-conscious clients book reliable home repair pros in Israel. We focus on clear communication, respectful service, and work that gets handled properly.
Basically, we are trying to make home repairs feel less like a national obstacle course and more like a normal errand. Bold, we know.
Which services can I book?
+
You can currently request help with the services listed on our site, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC and air conditioning, air-con cleaning, water heater / dud shemesh repair, and general handyman work.
We are actively expanding into more trades and more areas. If you do not see the exact service you need, you can still submit a repair request and we will let you know whether we can help.
Where do you operate?
+
Screw It is building coverage across Israel, city by city and trade by trade. Availability depends on the service, language, timing, and which pros are active in your area.
When you submit a request, we use your location to match you with an appropriate pro whenever we can.
Are you a pro, or do you know a pro who works in an area we should cover next? Send them to Join as a Pro.
Do your pros speak English?
+
English is our main priority right now, and we are also expanding support for other common oleh languages such as French, Spanish, Russian, Portuguese, Hindi, and Farsi.
Language availability depends on the trade and area, but clear communication is one of the main reasons Screw It exists. We take it seriously.
Are Screw It pros vetted?
+
Yes. Pros apply before joining the platform, and we review their trade experience, service areas, languages, business registration, relevant documents, and insurance information.
We are looking for people who do good work, show up, communicate clearly, and understand that customer service is not a foreign import.
How does booking work?
+
You submit a repair request with the service you need, your location, your preferred time, and a few details about the job. Then we match the request with a suitable pro.
Once a pro is assigned, you will receive the relevant job details and can track the process through Screw It. We keep the flow organized so the repair does not disappear into a WhatsApp fog.
Why do I pay a deposit?
+
The deposit reserves the appointment and helps make sure the pro's time is respected. Good pros block out real time for your job, and the deposit helps keep the schedule serious.
Depending on what happens with the job, the deposit may be applied toward the final amount, refunded, or retained under the cancellation and payment rules shown during the booking flow and as elaborated in our Terms of Service.
Who sets the final price?
+
Before a job is assigned and confirmed, available pros can send an estimate based on the description, photos, videos, and details you provide. That helps you understand the likely range before anyone shows up with a toolbox and a mysterious vibe.
Other than the booking deposit and any emergency callout fee shown during the flow, the pro sets the price for the actual work. Many jobs need an on-site look before the final scope and price are clear.
Before final payment, the pro creates a final bill for you to review and sign. You should only approve it once the listed work and amount look right to you.
How do payments work?
+
You pay Screw It directly through secure payment links. After the job is complete, the pro creates a final bill, you review and sign it, and the system generates the payment link.
Once payment is received, Screw It handles the platform split and pays the pro their share. That means cleaner accounting, a clearer paper trail, less shady nonsense, and fewer chances for clients to get taken advantage of.
Can I reschedule or cancel?
+
Yes, when the job is still early enough in the process. If your plans change, let us know as soon as possible so we can protect both your schedule and the pro's time.
Once work has started, cancellation is no longer available through the normal client flow. Late cancellations may affect whether the deposit is refunded, applied, or retained.
What if I need emergency help?
+
If emergency booking is available for your service and area, you can mark the repair request as an emergency during booking. Emergency availability carries a ₪200 callout fee only when we can confirm a pro by the end of the next Israel business day.
For example, if you submit an emergency request at 1 PM on Monday, the emergency fee applies only if the confirmed appointment is by the end of Tuesday. If the earliest confirmed time is later than that cutoff, we waive the emergency fee and treat the job as a standard request.
The preferred-times page marks slots inside the emergency-fee window with a small emergency icon so you can see which times may carry the fee.
What if something goes wrong?
+
Tell us. Seriously. Screw It exists because people are tired of shrugging and hoping home repair problems magically become less annoying.
If there is an issue with timing, communication, billing, or the completed work, use the Contact Us page and we will review what happened. We cannot promise every outcome in advance, but we do promise to take the situation seriously and help move it toward a fair resolution.
Can I book for a tenant, landlord, parent, or friend?
+
Yes, as long as the person at the property knows what is happening and can coordinate access with the pro. Please include the best contact person and any access notes in the request.
If approvals are needed from a landlord, building manager, or family member, it is best to sort that out before the pro arrives. Nobody wants a repair appointment that turns into a committee meeting.
